Description

A hearty one-pot dish that combines the vibrant flavors of Cajun cooking with creamy cheese and tender rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until fully browned, stirring occasionally. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Toss in the chopped onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the Cajun seasoning and let it cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add the rice to the pot, then pour in the beef broth. Bring to a gentle boil.
  5. Lower the heat, cover with a lid, and allow to simmer for about 20 minutes.
  6. Once the rice is fluffy, sprinkle in the shredded cheese, stirring gently until melted.
  7. Combine the mayonnaise with the hot sauce in a separate bowl to create a spicy drizzle.
  8. Serve hot, drizzling the spicy mayo on top.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken, and mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
