Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large pot over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until fully browned, stirring occasionally. Drain any excess fat.
- Toss in the chopped onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the Cajun seasoning and let it cook for an additional minute.
- Add the rice to the pot, then pour in the beef broth. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Lower the heat, cover with a lid, and allow to simmer for about 20 minutes.
- Once the rice is fluffy, sprinkle in the shredded cheese, stirring gently until melted.
- Combine the mayonnaise with the hot sauce in a separate bowl to create a spicy drizzle.
- Serve hot, drizzling the spicy mayo on top.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken, and mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
