Description

A delicious and comforting Mexican Chopped Cheese Sandwich loaded with savory beef, melted cheese, and fresh toppings.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (brioche or sourdough)
  • 1 cup chopped cheese (cheddar or American)
  • 1/2 cup cooked ground beef or chorizo
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeños
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup shredded lettuce
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Butter for grilling

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet: Place your non-stick skillet over medium heat and let it warm up.
  2. Cook the meat: Add your cooked ground beef or chorizo, season, and brown until heated through.
  3. Add the veggies: Sauté diced onions and jalapeños until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Melt the cheese: Sprinkle over the meat mixture and let it melt.
  5. Prepare the bread: Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice and mustard on the opposite side.
  6. Assemble the sandwich: Spoon the meat-and-cheese mixture onto one slice, layer with tomatoes and lettuce, and top with the second slice.
