- Zest from 2 lemons
- 1 cup water (for lemon syrup)
- 1 1/2 lbs fresh strawberries (hulled)
- 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 6 cups water (to dilute)
- 2 cups ice cubes
- 1 cup strawberries (sliced for garnish)
- 2 large lemons (sliced for garnish)
Instructions
- Create the Lemon Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with 1/2 to 1 cup of granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously until the sugar completely dissolves. Add the zest from 2 lemons and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow the syrup to cool after removing it from the heat.
- Juice the Lemons: Grab your citrus juicer and extract the juice from 1 1/2 cups of lemons. Pour this vibrant liquid into a large pitcher.
- Puree the Strawberries: Toss 1 1/2 lbs of hulled and washed strawberries into your blender. Blend until they transform into a smooth, luscious puree.
- Combine Your Ingredients: In a large pitcher with the lemon juice, combine the cooled lemon syrup and 6 cups of water. Stir well.
- Add the Strawberry Puree: Pour in the smooth strawberry puree and mix gently until the color harmonizes.
- Serve & Garnish: Ladle the lemonade over ice in tall glasses, garnishing each with fresh strawberry slices and lemon wedges.
