Description

Firecracker Hot Dogs are a zesty twist on a classic, featuring perfectly grilled all-beef hot dogs and a homemade Firecracker sauce for a flavorful experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 all-beef hot dogs
  • 8 soft hot dog buns, lightly toasted
  • For Firecracker Sauce:
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • For Toppings:
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or pepper jack for an extra kick)
  • ½ cup diced red onions
  • ½ cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro leaves

Instructions

  1. Make the Firecracker Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together ¼ cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice until silky smooth.
  2. Prep the Toppings: Dice the red onions, slice the jalapeños, shred the cheese, and roughly chop the cilantro. Set aside.
  3. Heat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F).
  4. Grill the Hot Dogs: Place the hot dogs on the grill, cooking for about 5 to 7 minutes, turning occasionally.
  5. Toast the Buns: In the last 2 minutes of grilling, place the buns cut-side down on the grill.
  6. Assemble the Hot Dogs: Spread the Firecracker sauce inside each bun, add the grilled hot dog, and top with cheese, onions, jalapeños, and cilantro.
  7. Serve Immediately: Enjoy hot off the grill!

Notes

Make the Firecracker sauce a day in advance and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Customize toppings based on personal preference.
