Instructions
- Slice the onions into thick rings, about a half-inch wide.
- Prepare the batter by whisking together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold water gradually to the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth.
- Coat each onion ring in the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
- Transfer the dipped rings to breadcrumbs and coat thoroughly.
- Heat the oil in a skillet to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry the onion rings in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauce.
