Description
A delightful dish featuring perfectly crispy fried chicken drizzled with hot honey, combining savory flavors with a hint of sweetness and spice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
- ½ cup honey
- 1–2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken breasts in the buttermilk for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Whisk together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess liquid to drip off, then dredge it in the seasoned flour mixture.
- Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil and fry for 6-8 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 75°C).
- Combine honey and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over low heat until just heated through.
- Serve the hot, crispy chicken with the hot honey drizzled on top.
Notes
For customizable heat, adjust the red pepper flakes in the hot honey. Marinating the chicken overnight enhances its tenderness and flavor.
