- 4 cups of cubed bread (stale baguette, brioche, or challah)
- 2 cups of whole milk
- 1 cup of sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- Butter for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease your baking dish with butter.
- Mix together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well blended.
- Add the cubed bread to the custard mixture and gently stir to coat.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and allow it to absorb for a few moments.
- Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife comes out clean.
- Cool for a few moments before serving warm, optionally with whipped cream or caramel sauce.
