Description
A vibrant dish featuring tender beef and aromatic basil wrapped in delicate rice paper, perfect for gatherings or a light meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz Beef (thinly sliced, sirloin or flank steak)
- 1 cup Fresh Basil Leaves (preferably Thai basil)
- 1 cup Rice Paper Wrappers
- 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Fish Sauce
- 1 Garlic Clove (minced)
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- Dipping Sauce: Soy sauce, lime juice, and chili sauce to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: Heat your non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef along with minced garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook until the beef browns and is cooked through, roughly 3-5 minutes.
- Prepare Rice Paper Wrappers: Follow the package instructions to hydrate the rice paper wrappers by soaking them in warm water until soft.
- Assemble the Rolls: Lay a rice paper wrapper on your work surface. Place a basil leaf on one end, followed by a small portion of the cooked beef. Roll the wrapper tightly, folding in the edges as you go.
- Repeat the process with the remaining rolls, stacking them neatly on a plate.
- Make the Dipping Sauce: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce with lime juice and chili sauce. Adjust to your taste preference.
- Serve: Present your Thai Basil Beef Rolls with the dipping sauce on the side.
Notes
Slice beef against the grain for tenderness. Avoid over-soaking rice paper to prevent tearing.
