Description
Delicious Thai Basil Beef Rolls wrapped in translucent rice paper, filled with a savory mixture of ground beef, fresh vegetables, and aromatic basil.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Lean Ground Beef
- 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Hoisin Sauce
- 1 cup Shredded Carrots
- 1 cup Chopped Bell Peppers
- 1 cup Fresh Basil Leaves
- 6 sheets Rice Paper Wrappers
Instructions
- Cook the Beef Filling: In a non-stick frying pan over medium heat, add the lean ground beef. Brown the meat until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula. Approximately 5-7 minutes should do it.
- Add Flavors: Once the beef is browned, stir in soy sauce and hoisin sauce. Mix until the meat is evenly coated, and let it simmer for 2 more minutes.
- Mix in the Veggies: Remove the pan from heat and fold in the shredded carrots, chopped bell peppers, and fresh basil leaves. The residual heat will slightly wilt the basil, releasing its aroma.
- Prepare the Rice Paper: Fill a shallow dish with warm water. Dip one rice paper wrapper into the water for about 10-15 seconds until it softens.
- Fill & Roll: Place the softened rice paper on a clean cutting board. Add a couple of tablespoons of the beef mixture to the lower third of the wrapper. Fold the sides over the filling, then tightly roll from the bottom up, sealing the edges. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- Serve: Arrange the rolls on a platter and serve with your favorite dipping sauces, such as sweet chili sauce or peanut sauce.
Notes
For best results, prepare the filling a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Assemble your rolls just before serving for optimal freshness.
