- 500g all-purpose flour
- 75g sugar
- 10g salt
- 10g instant yeast
- 250ml warm milk
- 4 large eggs
- 200g unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 200g chocolate chips
- 250ml vanilla custard
Instructions
- Combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast in a large mixing bowl.
- Whisk the warm milk and eggs in a separate bowl.
- Pour the milk-egg mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Add the softened butter and knead into a silky dough for about 10-15 minutes.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread the vanilla custard over the dough and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
- Roll the dough into a log, slice into pieces, and place in a baking dish.
- Let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool before serving.
Notes
Serve with coffee or fresh berries for a delightful experience. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
