- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for filling)
- 1 cup strawberry jam or fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, heat milk and butter until warm. Combine and add egg.
- Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes. Let rise in a warm spot for an hour until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the cream cheese filling. Sprinkle strawberries on top, roll tightly, and cut into pieces.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Mix powdered sugar with milk for glaze and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
Feel free to substitute strawberries with raspberries or blueberries. For a make-ahead option, prepare the rolls the night before and refrigerate overnight.
