Description

Delightful rolls that combine the flavors of cinnamon, strawberries, and cream cheese for a perfect brunch treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and yeast. Whisk to blend.
  2. In a saucepan, warm the milk and butter, then mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Cover and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 12 by 18 inches.
  6. Spread cream cheese on the dough, sprinkle with cinnamon, and top with sliced strawberries.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from one long side to form a log and cut into 12 equal rolls.
  8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool and drizzle with icing (powdered sugar mixed with milk).

Notes

Feel free to customize with other berries or add lemon zest for a zesty twist.
