Description

Decadent brownies featuring layers of rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter cups for an indulgent experience.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (112 grams)
  • 6.5 ounces (180 grams) dark chocolate (50-70%)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200 grams)
  • 2 large eggs (whisked)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (63 grams)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (20 grams)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 9 peanut butter cups

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. Melt the chocolate and butter in a large bowl, microwaving in 45-second intervals until smooth.
  4. Cool the melted mixture slightly, then whisk in the sugar.
  5. Add the whisked eggs and vanilla extract, stirring until glossy.
  6. Mix in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
  7. Layer half of the brownie batter in the prepared pan and place the peanut butter cups on top.
  8. Top with the remaining brownie batter, covering the peanut butter cups.
  9. Bake for 27-32 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool for 3-4 hours before slicing into squares.

Notes

For added flair, swirl some peanut butter into the batter before baking. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
