Description

Crispy, golden-brown potato balls filled with creamy mashed potatoes, garlic, and Parmesan cheese, perfect as an appetizer or snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (cooled)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • Vegetable oil (for deep frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled mashed potatoes, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, one egg, salt, black pepper, and parsley (if using). Mix until incorporated.
  2. Scoop approximately 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball between your palms.
  3. Prepare three shallow bowls with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  4. Coat each potato ball in flour, tap off the excess, dip in the beaten eggs, and then coat in breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the potato balls in batches until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes).
  7. Drain on a plate lined with paper towels and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For a healthier alternative, try baking or air frying the potato balls instead of deep frying.
