Description

Delicious oven-baked cabbage burgers that are a wholesome twist on a classic, offering a crunchy alternative and rich flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small head of cabbage (cut into thick slices)
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg (optional, for binding)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the cabbage head into thick rounds, about ½-inch thick. Brush both sides with olive oil and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg if using. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Shape the meat mixture into patties and press onto each cabbage slice.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, sprinkle cheese on each patty, and broil for an additional 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For a meatless option, substitute ground beef with plant-based proteins like black beans or lentils. These burgers can also be made in air fryer at 375°F for 15-20 minutes.
