- 1 small head of cabbage (cut into thick slices)
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 egg (optional, for binding)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the cabbage head into thick rounds, about ½-inch thick. Brush both sides with olive oil and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg if using. Mix thoroughly.
- Shape the meat mixture into patties and press onto each cabbage slice.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle cheese on each patty, and broil for an additional 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
For a meatless option, substitute ground beef with plant-based proteins like black beans or lentils. These burgers can also be made in air fryer at 375°F for 15-20 minutes.
