Description

Delicious blondies combining the flavors of banana bread and sweet, rich blondies, filled with nuts and optional chocolate chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Combine the mashed bananas, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and egg in a medium mixing bowl, mixing until smooth.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Incorporate the chopped nuts and chocolate chips (if using) into the batter.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool the blondies for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Let cool slightly and then cut into squares.

Notes

Make sure to use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness.
