Description
Delicious blondies combining the flavors of banana bread and sweet, rich blondies, filled with nuts and optional chocolate chips.

- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Combine the mashed bananas, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and egg in a medium mixing bowl, mixing until smooth.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Incorporate the chopped nuts and chocolate chips (if using) into the batter.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
- Cool the blondies for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Let cool slightly and then cut into squares.
Notes
Make sure to use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness.
