Description

Delightful maple glazed apple blondies filled with tender apple chunks and topped with creamy maple frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped apples (peeled and cored)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  3. Mix the melted butter with both the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy in a large bowl.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, blending until fluffy.
  5. Incorporate the dry ingredients gradually, stirring gently to create a thick batter.
  6. Fold in the chopped apples and maple syrup evenly.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and maple syrup until smooth for the frosting.
  11. Spread the frosting generously on top of the cooled blondies and slice into squares.

Notes

For a twist, substitute apples with pears or add nuts for extra crunch. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
