- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped apples (peeled and cored)
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
- Mix the melted butter with both the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy in a large bowl.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, blending until fluffy.
- Incorporate the dry ingredients gradually, stirring gently to create a thick batter.
- Fold in the chopped apples and maple syrup evenly.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
- Beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and maple syrup until smooth for the frosting.
- Spread the frosting generously on top of the cooled blondies and slice into squares.
Notes
For a twist, substitute apples with pears or add nuts for extra crunch. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
