Description

A delightful Greek Honey Cake infused with aromatic spices and rich honey, offering a warm and comforting dessert experience.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the honey and milk until combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or refrigerate for a week. Can also be frozen for up to three months.
