Description

  • 6 cups apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)

  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk or cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set it to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare the crust: Roll out one pie crust and fit it into a large sheet pan.
  3. Combine the filling: In a large bowl, mix apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, cornstarch, and salt.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the crust-lined sheet pan.
  5. Top with the second crust: Roll it out and lay it over the apple filling, sealing the edges.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.
  7. Prepare the glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  8. Glaze the pie after cooling slightly.
  9. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
