Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round baking pan.
- Cream the softened butter along with granulated sugar and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the butter-sugar blend on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples and walnuts using a rubber spatula.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
