- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups frozen French fries
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 cup mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: pickles, tomatoes, lettuce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion until the beef is cooked through and the onions are glistening. Drain any excess fat.
- In a large baking dish, spread the cooked beef and onion mixture evenly across the bottom.
- Add the frozen French fries on top of the beef mixture.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the French fries.
- In a small bowl, mix the ketchup and mustard, then drizzle it over the cheese layer.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes until the fries are crisp and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Serve hot with optional toppings.
Notes
For added flavor, consider mixing in diced bell peppers or using different cheeses. This casserole can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge before baking.
