Description

A heavenly pizza dough recipe that creates a bubbly, crispy crust, perfect for all your pizza creations.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour for extra chew)
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: garlic powder and dried oregano for added flavor

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast, allowing them to froth together for 5–10 minutes.
  2. In a larger mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt, then pour in the foamy yeast mixture along with the olive oil. Stir until you achieve a shaggy dough consistency.
  3. Knead the dough by hand on a lightly floured surface for about 8–10 minutes or use a stand mixer with a dough hook on low speed.
  4. Lightly grease a bowl, place your dough inside, and cover it with a kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm spot for 1–2 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. After the dough has risen, punch it down gently, divide it into two equal balls, and let them rest for about 15 minutes.
  6. Gently stretch and shape each ball into a 10–12 inch circle by hand.
  7. Preheat your oven to 500°F (or the highest setting) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
  8. Top your dough with your favorite ingredients and bake for 7–10 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crisp.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use whole wheat flour or let the dough rise overnight in the fridge. Adjust baking times if using a different cooking method.
