Description

A delightful moist cake topped with caramelized bananas, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter and sprinkle brown sugar in the bottom.
  3. Arrange banana slices in a single layer over the brown sugar.
  4. Mix together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs, one at a time, then mix in vanilla until smooth.
  6. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
  7. Pour the batter over the bananas and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool for 10 minutes before flipping onto a serving plate.
