- 2 ripe bananas
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 package cream cheese (8 oz)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll it into a rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Spread melted butter over the surface and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
- Roll up the dough into a tight log and slice into pieces, about 1 inch thick.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cut side up, and let them rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth for frosting.
- Slather the frosting on warm rolls.
Notes
Allow rolls to rise for the best texture. Use ripe bananas for enhanced sweetness.
