Description

Decadent brownies combining the comforting flavors of banana bread and rich chocolate.


Ingredients

  • 3 medium Ripe Bananas
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • ½ cup Chopped Walnuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 large Eggs
  • ½ cup Butter (unsalted)
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • ¼ cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Mix the melted butter, sour cream, granulated sugar, and both teaspoons of vanilla extract with the mashed bananas.
  4. Incorporate the eggs, stirring until fully integrated.
  5. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt in a separate bowl, then add to the wet ingredients and fold gently.
  6. Add in the walnuts or chocolate chips.
  7. Prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and pour the batter in.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Cool the brownies, then make the frosting with powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract, and spread it on top.

Notes

For best results, use overripe bananas. You can make the batter ahead of time and refrigerate it before baking.
